Guatemala Retreat ~ Shakti Sadhana
April 23-27, 2018
Escape to Guatemala and experience the beauty of Lake Atitlán and transformative power of yoga, meditation, and crystals with an authentic Cacao Ceremony led by the Chocolate Shaman, Keith Wilson. For Yoga Teachers, this 5-day experience provides a continuing education credit as we dive into yoga-related topics such as Astrology, Ayurveda, and Chakras. For others, this week will offer a relaxing and unforgettable opportunity for self-discovery to get in touch with your true nature.
Sacred & Beautiful Space in San Marcos
Located on the shores of Lake Atitlán in Guatemala, The Sanctuary is a unique retreat space created to support the return of the temple arts.
Constructed with the intention to be a harmonious, sacred container for workshops, rituals and community celebrations, The Sanctuary provides comfort and safety for deep emotional and transformational processes.
This relaxing space has blissful views of the lake and volcanoes, whilst curtains provide an intimate feel so participants can be fully present with their journey.
Your Journey to Power or Shakti
This retreat has been especially designed to empower and increase your shakti or feminine energy with new levels of self awareness through a deeper understanding of Astrology, Ayurveda, the Chakras and Crystals. Creating nurturing spiritual practices or sadhana, that are aligned with this self awareness will forge deeper understating and connections to spirit and Self.
We'll use your astrological birth chart to provide a basis for understanding the signs, houses, and planets in your chart. Your chart is a virtual blueprint of your soul. We will weave this information through explorations of Ayurveda, the Chakras, and Crystals. Our focus on the transits of Jupiter and Saturn will illuminate the path of least resistance towards your personal joy, happiness, evolution, and expansion.
Next, we'll conduct an Ayurveda assessment of your diet, body type, lifestyle and other factors to determine your current state or vikruti. We will look at the Chakras in relation to the the doshas or metabolic types and provide recommendations and information to help restore or maintain balance. Identification and correction of personal imbalances to achieve improved health will include yoga, meditation, diet, lifestyle, spiritual practices, and crystals.
Then we'll move into a deeper exploration of the more subtle energetics of the chakra system. We'll learn how to use meditation, deep relaxation and crystals to clear stagnant energy, provide correction of improper movement in the chakras, and allow an immediate rise in your vibration.
All of these insights will then be used to create recommendations for spiritual practices that are best suited for you according to these ancient traditions connecting you more solidly to the feminine power or shakti that is inherently you and yours!

Traveling to San Marcos La Laguna
Flights and accommodations are not included in the cost of the retreat. Citizens of the US, Canada, EU countries, Norway, Switzerland, Australia, New Zealand, Israel and Japan are among those who do not need a visa for tourist visits to Guatemala. If you are flying into the country, your flight will most likely land at the Guatemalan International Airport (GUA) located in the capital of the country – Guatemala City. From Guatemala City – you will take a shuttle to San Marcos, which is a 5.5 hour drive from the airport. We strongly suggest booking your flights to land before 12pm to avoid issues with transportation. Since San Marcos is a really tiny town no cars are needed. You can reach everything by foot. Boats are the main mode of transport around the lake. The boats operate from Panajachel and San Pedro visiting the small towns along the way (including San Marcos).
