Kundalini

Kundalini. Most of us have heard this word but really aren’t sure what it is or what it means. I’ve found that it is a very misunderstood concept, process and energy. In the broadest sense of the word, all yoga is about kundalini. But like many other very big topics of this kind, there is a lot of misinformation and unfortunately a lot of people who really do not know what they are talking about. Another topic that falls into the same category is chakras.

Get In The Flow with the Water Element

My last blog was about the earth element so I wanted to give the water element equal time. The elements permeate everything! Including your astrology or natal birth chart as it is also called. Each sign is associated with one of the elements earth, fire, water, or air. So for instance, I’m a scorpio which is a water sign.

Building Stability with the Earth Element

I want to talk about the energy of the element of earth. It can be the hardest one for many to “feel” because we have been vibrating with the earth element since we were in the womb. So, it’s an energy we know very well and are very used to which can make it easier for us to be less aware of it because it’s always there. I hope that makes sense.

Gratitude For Your Food

I want to talk about the need to honor the food we eat today. Idk about you but as a child at the family dinner table, someone was always asked to say a blessing. And we of course, were not supposed to eat anything until everyone sat down and the blessing was said. At all family holiday gatherings it was the same only instead of one of us kids saying the blessing, one of the adults got that job. I didn’t mind saying the blessing most of the time but sometimes I said it really fast.

Expectations, Attachments and Disappointment

Today's blog is about something we all experience from time to time. Yes, the dreaded disappointment. During one of my journey experiences I realized that a part of me expected people to disappoint me. That was a biggie for me. I know that if I expect that, I will not be disappointed. Haha! We must understand that if we expect things to be a certain way, we are holding a kind of container for that to happen.

Crystal Allies

Today I want to talk about crystals and stones. They are one of my favorite tools and I am always using them for a wide variety of purposes because I can so clearly feel their support. Recently, one of my good friends and clients offered to allow me to use their cabin in the mountains of NC. It is a magnificent log cabin with a spectacular view, very secluded and comfortable.

Prana And Pranayama

Today I want to teach a simple breath awareness  technique. Breath practices are called pranayama in Yoga. Let's take a minute to better understand the word pranayama. Pranayama is the next rung of the ladder of Raja Yoga coming after asana or posture. Often pranayama is referred to as simple breathing practices but it is actually much more.

The Body Temple

I want to talk about a view that really changed my life. During my yoga certification, I was introduced to the idea that my body was a temple. This concept changed so much for me and fueled my personal journey to have a sparkling clean temple in honor of the great boon I was given of having a human body.

Ayahuasca & Divine Mother

For me, plant medicine includes anything that comes from the earth that is used in a conscious, purposeful way from food and natural supplements to cacao as a facilitator for personal exploration to magic mushrooms and ayahuasca. Many of us have heard of ayahuasca and psilocybin or magic mushrooms.

Have You Tried Cacao?

There is more I’d like to share about plant medicine. This is a broad topic and ranges from natural supplements to cacao to ayahuasca. And yes, I’ve experienced all of those and others. I’m grateful for them as the teachers I know them to be based on my personal experiences. As far as I’m concerned, food is also part of that category.

Pills or Plants?

Today I wanna talk a little today about plant medicine. Plant medicine is the oldest kind of medicine. Long before science got involved and we were more in tune with nature as a civilization, what was found in nature was used to correct imbalances and heal conditions.

Sitting in the All Inclusive Truth

I’ve gotten numerous messages from my guides to practice automatic writing. So here goes. Today I want to talk about truth. The truth is a big deal right? We all want the truth from others, from institutions, from authorities, from those we elect, from our spouse, friends, family, workplace and more.

Death and Liberation

My long time boyfriend, Mark, died unexpectedly in September 2020. This is not my first blog about it. Needless to say, it was a traumatic experience that truly rocked my world. I would definitely say it takes a lot to rock my world and I guess I needed to be reminded on some level that it was possible.

Gurus, Mantras and Initiations

I am fortunate enough to have been formally initiated into more than one mantra by different spiritual masters. There is an idea that you should only take one mantra but I found myself very drawn to all of the experiences I had and in my soul, I knew there were good choices for me.  Early in my yoga journey I had a burning desire to find a guru.

Becoming More Aware

We are living in a new world that is going to continue to change. It must. What we, the most evolved beings ever to walk the face of this planet, have created is not sustainable. How has this happened? Why have we not known we were living out of harmony with the earth itself? You can certainly make a case for one of the reasons being a lack of awareness.

Using Fire to Empower Resolutions & Goals

Well, here we are in a new year with a new strain of covid. Not what any of us were hoping for. What this says to me is that we still haven't figured out how to deal with this situation. You can call it a problem if you like dealing with problems or you can just see it as a situation human beings have created and now must learn to properly handle. We can look at our lives this way also.

You are 100% Responsible for Your Life

I want to ask you a question. Can you think of anything that is going on in your life right now that if I asked you if you agree to have this happening you would say no? I think many of us can think of something that is not as we wish it to be. So what kind of agreement do you have with it if the rational, logical mind would say no to it?

Living a Profound Life

Happy almost new year! While there are many that just want 2020 to be over, I’ve also heard countless stories of profound growth, expansion, compassion, clarity and healing. Most of us heard about the great conjunction between Jupiter and Saturn and may have seen it in the nighttime sky! It is truly a spectacular thing to see and it marks the beginning of a new 20 year cycle and a new age!
