Why We Carry What Isn’t Ours—And How to Put It Down
Carrying what isn’t ours can feel noble, selfless, or even necessary—until it doesn’t. Until it feels like exhaustion. Stuckness. A fog you didn’t even realize you were living in.
Sometimes, especially as healers, guides, parents, space-holders, or even just caring humans, we unconsciously pick up burdens, emotions, or responsibilities that aren’t ours to carry.
It’s rarely intentional. It happens quietly, subtly:
In listening deeply to someone’s pain.
In wanting to make things easier for someone we care about.
In confusing holding space with holding their stuff.
And before we know it, we’re stuck. Heavy. Foggy. Over invested.
Here’s the irony: when we carry what isn’t ours, we block healing for everyone.
The Shift Is Real: Gratitude, Humanity, and Riding the Waves of Change
If you’re feeling like something big is shifting right now, you’re not imagining it. It’s not just the news cycle, the economy, or that collective “What is even happening?” energy swirling around. The shift is real—energetically, emotionally, even cosmically.
A 40-year cycle just ended as Pluto left Capricorn, and we’re approaching the close of a 28-year Saturn cycle in 2026. You don’t have to be into astrology to feel it. This isn’t about belief; it’s about recognizing that something fundamental is changing—within us, and all around us.
From Hustle to Harmony: Redefining Wealth and Real Abundance
Many of us carry beliefs around money that aren’t just casual thoughts but deep-seated stories we’ve internalized—often without even realizing it. These beliefs shape our relationship with wealth and abundance, creating invisible limits on what we believe is possible or acceptable. Let’s look at some common limiting beliefs around money and abundance, especially those that surface under the Taurus-Scorpio axis, where stability meets transformation.
Letting Go and Leveling Up: How Maslow’s Hierarchy Guides Transformation
Let’s be real—letting go isn’t easy, but it’s the secret sauce to leveling up in life. Think of it as a skill you build over time, one that helps you move through every challenge with a little more grace. Each level of Maslow’s hierarchy proves it: moving up means dropping what no longer serves us, whether it’s that old box of stuff from high school or an outdated belief about who we ‘should’ be. Ready to make space for the new you? Let’s break it down.
Unlocking Maslow’s Pyramid: The Power of Shadow Work
Climbing Maslow’s hierarchy of needs might sound straightforward—just check off each level and you’re good to go, right? Not quite. Real fulfillment isn’t just about meeting basic needs or striving for lofty ideals. Often, the deepest growth is hidden in the parts of ourselves we’d rather ignore—our shadows. Shadow work is about shining a light on these hidden aspects, not to “fix” anything, but to reclaim the energy and insights they hold. And here’s the twist: shadow work could actually be the key to unlocking each level of Maslow’s pyramid in a way that feels authentic and empowering. Let’s dive in and see how embracing our shadows can help us not just survive but thrive.
Belonging Unlocked: Cracking the Code to Connection in Maslow’s Hierarchy
Back in the 1940s, psychologist Abraham Maslow came up with a theory that still holds today: we humans have layers of needs, starting with the basics (like food and water) and working our way up to the good stuff (personal growth and full-on self-actualization). Think of it as leveling up in the game of life—Maslow even visualized it as a pyramid, with each level representing a different set of needs.
Ready to Drop Some Karma? This New Moon Eclipse in Libra Is Here to Balance the Scales
Recently, as the winds howled and the rain poured down with hurricane Helene, it felt like nature was putting on a show, mirroring the powerful energies of this new moon solar eclipse in Libra. The wind was doing its thing — stirring up mental and spiritual energies, bringing clarity, ideas, and, let’s be real, a little chaos. Then came the rain, sweeping in to wash away what the wind had so kindly dug up. If that’s not a cosmic metaphor, I don’t know what is!
Enough is Enough: Did You Sign Up for This?
Society and the media aren’t just thriving on our insecurities, fears, and desires—they’re actively creating them. They’ve engineered a world where you're never quite enough, where there's always something to fix, buy, or chase. And they’ve made a fortune doing it.
Ready for a Reboot? This Week’s Super Moon and Cosmic Trio Might Just Do the Trick
Ever feel like you’re in desperate need of a cosmic reset button? Well, the universe might be handing you one this week. With a Super Full Moon lighting up the sky and a rare planetary trio—known as a Grand Trine—coming into alignment, it’s like the cosmos is giving us all a nudge (or maybe a shove) to shake things up. You don’t have to be an astrology buff to benefit from this kind of celestial cocktail; it’s about tuning into the vibe and using it to clear out the mental and emotional clutter.
Beyond How You Look: Where Real Beauty is Found
From the moment we’re old enough to see our own reflection, we’re bombarded with one message: youth equals beauty, and beauty equals worth. It’s a twisted narrative designed to keep us forever chasing an impossible standard while the beauty industry and media cash in on our insecurities.
This isn’t just a subtle nudge—it’s a full-on attack. The media spins reality, airbrushing and filtering it until we’re convinced we’re never enough. Let’s call it what it is: media manipulation at its finest. This relentless conditioning keeps us trapped in a vicious cycle of self-doubt and dissatisfaction.
Letting Go: Embracing Life’s Magic
Life’s a wild ride, isn’t it? The magic happens when you let go of all those rigid expectations and just roll with what comes your way. I’m talking about deep, earth-shattering change—the kind that hits you so hard you can’t help but notice. Every day, I’m blown away by the incredible opportunities life throws at me. Sure, seeing the magic is a choice, but why wouldn’t you choose it? If you’re ready to level up your life, start paying attention.
The Balance Obsession: Why Your Chakras Don’t Need It
When it comes to chakras, the traditional yogic perspective doesn’t get hung up on balance like it’s some essential buzzword. The real focus is on something far more powerful. It’s all about waking up these energy centers, flipping the switch, and unleashing their unique powers within us. This is the core of true spiritual wellness and the heart of multi-dimensional healing—because each chakra isn’t just an energy center; it’s a gateway to a whole new level of consciousness. Awakening them can lead to profound transformation, way beyond just feeling "balanced."
Reflections During the Lions Gate Portal: The Dance of Memory & Karma
Last weekend, I spent hours going through old boxes of pictures. It was a long walk down memory lane, a profound and cathartic experience. As I sifted through the snapshots of my past, I couldn't help but reflect on how these memories—much like karma—shape and influence our lives. This journey has been both revealing and exquisite, subtly guided by the powerful energies of the Lions Gate portal.
How I Came to Call My Blog "Becoming Ganga"
The name "Becoming Ganga" holds deep personal and spiritual significance for me. It all began during a pivotal moment in my yoga teacher training at Satchidananda Ashram when our entire class had the honor of having satsang with Swami Satchidananda

Energy Healers: The New Home Repair Pros
One of my first experiences was quite profound and unexpected. While working energetically with a private client, I psychically heard that her home and property were in need of deep cleansing. I told her what I heard and she immediately said “will you do it?” I said sure. I had never been to her house and knew nothing about it and wanted it that way. I continued to receive information about what was needed including that it needed to be started on the next new moon day. I gathered the things I was guided to bring and went to her house. It is a large, historic house surrounded by an impressive iron fence. I noticed the fence had sharp pointed spikes all around the top. I went in the gate and sat down right there and began my process.
